Is the new mirrorless by Sony the next big thing for photos and videos?

Game changer? This is the question that arose in many of us after the announcement of the new Sony A9. Davide Romeo Meraviglia was invited to test the new machine of the Japanese company by the Sony ambassador Amedeo Novelli and tried to answer the question. Here are his impressions: "I mainly tested the video caabilities of the camera trying all kind of things that a filmmaker like me has always been looking for and that would make a difference compared to other models that are already the market standard. The stabilization of the sensor is excellent and the body is very well built and resistant to heat. I did some tests on blacks at high ISO at 50 fps and the camera image looks good even over ISO 20,000. That's impressive if compared to other competitors. The autofocus in photo mode is shockingly fastand accurate and destroys any camera I've used so far. It is a pity that the performance of auto-focus in video mode is not the same, but still it's a further improvement compared to the previous models. Even the burst of 20 photos per second is an impressive feature that makes me assume outstanding video capabilities if the firmware allowed it. The lack of the Slog2 and Slog3 makes very clear that this model is not intended for filmmakers. Overall the impression is that from a photographic point of view the machine is revolutionary, while from the video point of view a firmware update would suffice to create a definitive alternative to the A7sII, current market standard. So my opinion is that the inevitable A7sIII will be worth waiting for".
